About Us

Hello! My name is Jennifer Hernandez. I became a lactation consultant after having my daughter in 2018, and experiencing the challenges of breastfeeding firsthand. I always knew I wanted to breastfeed my child. What I didn’t know, was that it is a learned skill. The parent and the child must both learn together. When it came time to breastfeed my child, it was a disaster. She would not latch. My husband and I read everything we could, and even took a class on breastfeeding. We tried everything.  Nothing worked, and we were devastated. I was already so overwhelmed with having a newborn, and recovering from the birth, that I almost gave up. We finally called a lactation consultant, and with her support and guidance, we started to notice a difference. Things gradually got easier, and because of her I was able to make my dream of breastfeeding come true. My goal is to help new mothers have the success I did, without the hardship I experienced. 

After 15 years of caring for patients as a dental hygienist, I knew I had the skills to care for breastfeeding parents and their babies. I trained at Jamaica hospital in Queens, New York. I currently volunteer at a non profit, providing urgent support for breastfeeding mothers. 

     As your lactation consultant, my process is to provide each family with an individualized care plan, depending on their goals.  My mission is to give families a strong start in their breastfeeding journey, and ensure their success!
